Warli Art Form
Hunting has been important since the middle ages. The warlis were also originally hunters but with deforestation and depleting trees, paddy farming is now the main stay of their existence. To hunt they shoot arrows at fleeing deer and pull the tail of crocodiles. Even today they use the age old spears and bow and arrows to hunt. The hunters worship Mhasoba, the horned buffalo as contrast to the farmers who worship the mother earth – goddess of food.
